  1. Loyal Customer

Smart Studying: Turning on Smart Power is a unique handbook that offers instruction to students in how to study. Its uniqueness lies in its format. Each page is filled with varying font sizes, graphics, and wonderful study tips. There are eight chapters in the handbook that need not be read in chronological order. In fact, one can begin at any location in the book and discover a useful, practical studying tip. Each chapter title is stated in terms of an energetic command such as “Switch on Attitude Power,” “Cut through distraction static,” and “Charge your memory battery.” These action-stated titles are sure to grab the attention of the readers.
Easy to read and easy on the eye are features that make this handbook user-friendly for students in grades five and up. The print is big and bold, and the pages are not overly congested with information. Students can readily identify the important points because they are presented in “thought bubbles,” like the cartoons. At the beginning of each chapter there are information maps, sneak previews, and hot tips that serve as guides to the important study tips and as food for thought. Included in the handbook is information for those with differing learning styles and differing types of smarts. A general overview of how to use the handbook and what to look for as you peruse the chapters is given in Chapter 1. This is an excellent introductory handbook for teaching how to develop good study skills and habits.
