From 1775 to the present women have been fighters for many different freedoms – in combat, saving White House treasures, protecting workers' rights, in the medical, art, and corporate finance professions, as frontierswomen, aviators, and Olympic winners. To recognize these women, Nancy Polette offers 32 original narrative poems that tell their struggles and accomplishments. She also includes a biography of each "fighter." No study of American history would be complete without their stories.
