Does questioning really make a difference? Yes, it does. Farris acknowledges this truth in her introduction. She stresses the words BALANCE, DIFFERENT, ACTIVE and QUESTIONING. Teachers must balance their different questions in order to elicit active responses from their students. Farris moves the reader from the traditional way of questioning students into the differentiated view of questioning. She gives a plethora of examples across disciplines of ways to question students and to obtain thoughtful responses and products from those students. The various games, examples, and techniques for questioning are based on creativity, the teaching/learning process, and all levels of Bloom’s taxonomy. This book is an excellent teacher resource and is worth purchasing.
